Bristol Family Photography – Family portraits

As parents, we often marvel at our little ones. Aren’t they just amazing? They are bright, funny, witty and downright beaufitul. Of course we want to capture all of this in their professional photos. Then, your photographer will no doubt ask you whether “you’d like to be in some of these photos”. I have met so many families since I started Bristol Family Photography , and often my lovely clients have said they would prefer not to be included in the images. I think we are all a bit self conscious in front of the camera – I know I am! However, I always do my upmost to make it a relaxed and fun experience. We will chat and joke until you forget you are having your photo taken. Most parents want beautiful photographs of their children. In the years to come, when your little ones have grown and ask to see the family photo album, they will want to see you with them in their portraits. This is why I will always encourage to jump in, even just for a couple of shots. These will one day be your little one’s most treasured possession.

And sometimes, when things don’t quite go as planned, I’ll keep shooting. Because these little moments, as imperfect as they are, are what makes our lives. Mum said to me: “Please keep taking pictures, this IS parenthood! One day, this is all I will want to remember.”

Whilst it is often possible to accommodate last minute bookings as babies rarely arrive on a schedule, most clients contact me during their second semester to ensure availability during the first 2 weeks of their babies’ life.
